The 12 Days of Goodness

Touching the Hearts of Seniors over the Holiday Season!

Join Us!

Numerous studies sadly confirm that close to 60% of seniors are without regular visitors.  That’s why, from December 12th to the 23rd,  the fans team up with Seahawks Legends as we all work together to remind every senior that they are loved and cherished.

Our mission is to inspire each and every fan to give at least one act of kindness to a senior during these 12 days.

Here are some ideas:

  • Make Hot Chocolate

How It All Began

The 12 Days of Goodness was created by Suzanne Perkins Newman,  a lifelong Seattle Seahawks fan, who used to share games with her father as an original season ticket holder.  Her father had one dream:  For the Seahawks to win the Lombardi Trophy.  Yet her father was never able to see that day, as he passed away in 2002.

Suzanne went on to care for her mom for the last six years of her mother’s life.  Because she found online resources so limited, she founded Answers for Elders to support families as they are navigating through the complex and complicated world of senior care.

Today, Suzanne is the host of Answers for Elders Radio Show, heard on three Seattle stations, with a reach throughout Western Washington.  Her passion for seniors and the Seahawks are the cornerstones of the 12 Days of Goodness!

Recognizing that the holiday season is especially difficult for seniors – most of whom receive no regular visitors, and have lost so many of their friends and relatives – Suzanne decided to bring some cheer into their lives.  She created The 12 Days of Goodness, to bring joy and touch the hearts of seniors!

For 12 days in December, with the help of Seahawks Legends,  Seahawks fans are encouraged to be more mindful of their senior loved ones during the holidays, and throughout the year.  We encourage you to give at least one act of kindness to a senior during these 12 days.

Now in our fifth year, we now feature over 30 events throughout Greater Puget Sound, and will be featuring over 25 Seahawks Legends visiting the various senior communities,  including Steve Raible, Norm Johnson, Jordan Babineaux, Joe Tafoya, Nesby Glasgow, Manu Tuiasosopo, Dave Wyman and Paul Johns – who joined her in visiting local senior centers and retirement communities in the greater Seattle and Puget Sound area.

About Answers for Elders

Answers for Elders believes that no one should have to experience navigating taking care of your senior loved one feeling alone and unsupported. Let’s face it. Navigating senior care is truly a daunting world. How do we really know if we are making the right decisions for our senior loved ones? There are so many things we face, and yet, if we knew what to prepare for in advance, things wouldn’t be such a crisis every time something happens that we have to step in and make decisions! was created by Suzanne Perkins Newman, an adult family caregiver walking the same path, caring for her mom. Because she found on-line resources so limited, she created an on-line community that will support you on your journey. We are a resource portal of answers that you need most, not only to learn what the issues are that you need to face, but even more- finding the local businesses that you can work with in your own local community.

Now the host of the Answers for Elders Radio Show, Suzanne brings vetted experts and providers to share their expertise with our community.
